What Is The Best Way To Cleanse Your Liver?

  • Sharebar

Are there supplements, natural remedies, things that I can do to promote liver health?
Also what about things to avoid. I know smoking and alcohol are bad for the liver, is there anything else?

    Drink lots of water
Limit intake of alcohol, processed foods, refined sugars and grains.
Reduce fat intake, especially animal fats. But make sure that you get plenty of fatty acids via fish oil supplements and/or flax seed oil, as your body needs some fat for proper metabolic activity.
Eat organic as much as you can afford – several pesticides and herbicides, once consumed, reside in body fat are challenging for the liver to remove.
Don’t consume nicotine in any form
Taking milk thistle supplements, vitamin C, selenium, vitamin E , B vitamins and beta-carotene have all been reported to have positive impact on liver health.
Drink green or white tea, cranberry juice (with no added sugar)
Coffee enemas are very cleansing to the liver. You will find some dispute of this online, but thee practice has been around since the early 20th century and there is compelling evidence that it has therapeutic effects on general health, liver health and as a cancer treatment (see studies by Dr. Lee Wattenberg and Dr. Peter Lechner on the Gerson method)
Increase intake of cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts)

All these are awesome answers (especially the green intake, dandelion & milk thistle) but on top of it you could also try Dr.Schultz gentle natural liver flush (without epsom salts as these are very bad for the intestinal lining) which involves fasting for 5 days, garlic and olive oil. Research it, you’ll find details online. It works but it takes a lot of will power.

Eat dandelion greens, greens in general–swiss chard, kale, spinach, watercress etc

So your dinner might consist of a small portion of skinless boneless chicken breast(very lightly sprayed or wiped with olive oil, some lime and parsley and rosemary) and grilled. A large portion of cooked swiss chard and a salad of romaine lettuce with light balsamic vinaigrette dressing. A cup of dandblend and a cup of berries like blueberry and raspberry.
This is what I did after chemotherapy gave me a fatty liver and elevated enzymes. Brought them down within a couple of months.

Try Daffodil tea. Try a kit from the health food store. Try this book ” Prescription for Nutritional Healing, Fourth Edition, A-Z Reference” by Phyliss A. Bach. Great Book ! If all else fails, and as a very last resort ,have your Dr. filter your blood. Good luck !
