For insomnia I recommend Chamomile, Lavender, Marjoram, Orange, Petitgrain.

  2. zyziphus, valarian and passion flower, are the best combination…..another alternative is to try 5-HTP.

    Hi Everybody,
Kava is not good for insomnia. As it will increase the feeling of energy and attentiveness.
Passionflower, Sage Herb and Valerian, Ashwagandha are a good herbal remedies.

This isnt herbal but is is made by your body. I have seen it OTC before. Its called Melatonin. It regultes your circadian rythms (biological clock). Basically it tells your body when its time to sleep.

Valerian root (available in the supplements/vitamin section of any mega-mart) smells like stinky socks, but acts as a natural sleep inducer.
I suffer from insomnia too, and take 3mg of Melatonin every night. It’s your natural sleep hormone, studies in rats show you can’t take enough of the stuff to hurt you, it dissipates quickly in your system so you’re not groggy the next day and it’s also in the vitamin/supplement section of your mega-mart. I couldn’t function with out it!

Listening to music while lying down always helps me. Suprisingly
Rock & Rap always works the best.

Kava root is primarily used as a natural sedative and sleep enhancement. Herbalists have traditionally used it as a remedy for nervousness and insomnia. Kava kava is an effective relaxant able to induce a feeling of relaxation, peace and contentment, along with a sharpening of the senses. As a sleep aid it promotes deep and restful sleep. It is also a muscle relaxant that can help relieve cramping due to spasms.
NOTE: Do not use if pregnant, nursing, or being treated for depression.
Valerian • Passionflower Compound is a gentle but effective herbal sedative, nervine and sleep tonic. This compound is soothing and quieting to the nervous system without any narcotic effect. It is ideal in excited nervous states, agitation, nervous headache and insomnia. It’s usefulness in sleep extends to shortening the time to fall asleep, curbing restless sleep and waking feeling well rested. This compound carries the structure function statement: “Promotes Relaxation & Restful Sleep.”
That’s My Best Answer! Hope it can Help!
