Treating lower back pain differently

Treating lower back pain with conventional means may relieve it for a while, but it will usually come back and then the horror begins all over again. Why does your back pain keep coming back? And what can you do to stop this vicious cycle?

Part of the answer lies in our lifestyles. We spend hours in a car, bus or train going to work and many more hours sitting at a desk. We stay trapped in front of a computer at work and then top it all off with sitting for a few more hours in front of the TV. Our diets are probably not the best either, and we may be dehydrated without realizing it.

Many people think that back pain is caused by a physical injury and sometimes it is. But more often than not, it is caused by muscles imbalances in the body itself, due in part to poor postural habits, poor diets and too much stress. When considering your back pain treatment options, let’s face it, they’re all pretty limited. You may have visited your doctor initially who either gave you a printed page of generic stretches, or referred you on to a back pain “specialist”. The specialist may have done alarming things to your back which felt very uncomfortable, or put a tens machine on you for five minutes followed by a short massage. For that you may have paid anything from $50 to $70, made all the worse by having to go back again the following week and repeating the process.

Fortunately, finding what’s actually causing the discomfort and by treating lower back pain in the comfort of your own home has never been easier. First you need to do a self assessment followed by some personalised exercises and you will start to feel better, sometimes straight away. Recovery times will vary with the length of time you have the pain of course. By treating lower back pain in this way and following good health practices, you’ll soon be back to your old self.

    Improve good posture to avoid lower back pain and do exercise regularly to have strong muscle everyday. Eat nutritious food and more vitamin to boost your energy level.
