The Benefits of Yoga Exercise Videos

In this crazy day and age, many of us live our life full of unnecessary stress and tension that can be almost eliminated simply by using Yoga exercise videos just a few times each week. There are endless symptoms to stress, some of which are decreased energy, mood swings, gaining weight and even muscle and joint pain. Now, doesn’t it make sense to do Yoga if it can either reduce or eliminate your stress and make you feel stronger and have more energy?

What exactly is Yoga? Many believe call it the mind/body/spirit workout, which means it brings all your senses together to make them work in unison, making the body have to work half as hard to do the same task. Mental clarity is also a wonderful side effect of practicing Yoga – so you can make decisions with more ease. You don’t need any special equipment for a Yoga workout, however many people prefer to use a sticky mat, it makes some of the standing poses easier to hold and makes you feel more secure and even provides a bit of a cushion when you are doing poses on the floor.

Don’t worry if you are a beginner as the experience is quite welcoming, since Yoga instructors teach in a non-competitive manor, and to focus on your own personal workout for that particular day. But if you are nervous about going to a class, you may want to consider a workout video, just make sure to find one that is appropriate for your fitness level.

Many people start with Hatha Yoga because of its gentle nature and because it is gentle and uses basic, easy to follow poses while others prefer Vinyasa Yoga which uses Sun Salutations along with a series of breathing patterns. Iyengar Yoga is also good for beginners because it focuses on proper alignment and good techniques. Another great option is Kundalini Yoga which puts the emphasis on breathing exercises (also called prana meaning energy). These are just a few of many wonderful forms of Yoga, why not try two or three different formats then choose one or two that you feel the most comfortable with.

As with anything, learning something new takes time and patience but there is no doubt that within weeks of starting your Yoga program, you will start to understand the flow of the program and start to enjoy the poses and breathing exercises.
