Americans are eating too much junk food these days, but they’re also becoming more health conscious. Eating green is more popular and starting to catch on. Some foods are just not good for us, and we feel better after eating healthy foods instead.

Unfortunately not everyone has the money to eat all organically, and it can get expensive. Foods need to pass FDA standards though, so if you can’t eat organic, it’s not that big of a deal. But if you can, try and at least get organic fruits and vegetables.

A fun way to get into natural eating is by looking up recipes online. There are tons of health and wellness websites with recipes you can choose from. If you have the latest kindle, you can even look up cookbooks that way so you can have it right in the kitchen with you.

Using low fat cheeses and dairy, organic vegetables, free range meats, and wild caught salmon (meaning the salmon hasn’t been raised on a farm cooped up with other fish) are all a part of a natural eating regimen. Cage free eggs are also a good idea.

Beginning a small window garden and growing some herbs indoors is a good way to start your own organic garden. Basil and tomatoes are also easy to grow from seed. Fruits and vegetables could be grown in a large garden outside once you get more gardening experience.

Some vegetables are great for the skin, too, and can be applied directly for benefits. Cucumbers are great for decreasing puffiness in eyes. Natural sugar scrubs are just as good as a glycolic peel, and can be made right in your own kitchen.

Pinot noir has resveratrol, which is an anti-aging agent. It also helps fight cancer. So do all types of red wine, in fact, but pinot noir has the most percentage in it. The Agaricus brazil mushroom is supposed to have anti-cancer abilities as well.

Try to eat lots of salads, lots of greens, fish, whole grains, and local produce. It will help you feel good and if you can, try to start growing your own produce so it doesn’t break your budget. There are also farmers markets, where vendors sell fresh local produce, honeys, meats, jams and the like. It’s cheaper than going to the grocery store and just as natural.
