Rozerem, Not As Safe As Melatonin

  • Sharebar

sleeping pillsI sometimes need to have a rant about sleeping pills. Today’s rant concerns the hypnotic drug Rozerem.
Rozerem imitates the natural hormone melatonin and begs the question, “Why would anyone take rozerem instead of melatonin?” Rozerem compared to melatonin comes in a poor second. After all it’s ten times as expensive and has some nasty side effects including depression.

Apparently doctors are recommending it as it’s been approved by the FDA. As if this bestows some magic garland of safety around it! Read more on rozerem here

I have taken this medication and became very depressed in about a week. The doctor prescribed something else but I got melatonin from the health store and have been taking it ever since.

I don’t sleep well every night but most nights are ok. At least I don’t feel depressed anymore.
    Thanks
