In light of recent research, I am now reconsidering all plastic baby products that I am using, from bottles to binkies to baby food containers. Does anyone have any info on BPA free baby products that are often used?? I plan on doing a total overhaul tomorrow of all of my products, I just want my little one to be safe!

When I heard all the info I didn’t think I was going to change my advent bottles, until I put hot water in a bottle for a long trip and melted the bottle! My friend put hers in the dishwasher and it turned opaque. My husband and I went out and bought Medela bottles – BPA free!

If you use bottles, you can use glass or *soft* plastic (like playtex drop-ins) they don’t release BPA. Most stores that sell plastic bottles also sell glass. If you don’t see it on the shelf, ask if you can special order them. Evenflo and Gerber both make glass bottles.
For sippy cups, you can get Kleen Kanteen and Sigg products for toddlers and young kids, or just use glass instead of plastic. (Hathor the Cowgoddess suggests putting a sock over a glass jar to make it easier to hold, and contain messes should little hands drop it!)
You can find stainless steel spoons/forks in many stores, they’ll last longer than the plastic, too.
Use the small plates that come with ceramic dishes for baby and toddlers.
Buy wooden and cloth toys made in the US or Canada instead of plastic.

ALL plastics leach chemicals if heated. If you don’t heat the stuff, you don’t have a problem.
