Nutrition is the key to harmonious growth, which is why parents have a great responsibility in this respect. Kids tend to disagree with grown-ups in terms of diet, just as with so many other things. Parents do have to use all their diplomacy and persuasion skills to actually cover good nutrition for kids. Consider the following suggestions for your kid’s main meals:
Breakfast
Good energy levels come with a balanced nutrition. There are intense activities in the morning that you’ll child needs to cover, hence, breakfast should provide food rich in nutrients. A donut will never be enough. Instead, make some breakfast drinks with milk, vanilla and some teaspoonfuls of honey. Wheat germs, apple juice and orange juice make a great combination. Other suggestions here include finger food vegetables, hard-boiled eggs and whole-grain muffins.
Lunch
Lunch tries moms’ creativity. Nutrition for kids is problematic because children can throw away, trade or give food away. The more boring lunch seems, the higher the chances that the child won’t eat it. You can make the child look forward to lunch, and creativity helps a lot. Tuna fish and salmon with some vegetables are a good combination. Or if the kid prefers sandwiches and peanut butter is a favorite, you can cut them into nice shapes and stuff them with other nutritive foods such as bacon bits, chopped dates, nuts or raisins.
Snacks
An energy boost is what children need when they return from school. Sweets may seem like a good idea, but they are the worst choice possible. Dried fruit are great for the occasion combined with sunflower seeds, dates, coconut shavings and pretzel sticks. Popcorn can also make a great snack. And the same can be said about whole wheat crackers with cheese.
Dinner
Dinner is the best time to make nutrition for kids complete, because it allows you to create a balanced diet. Put different dishes on the table and let your child choose the one he/she likes. If the food seems attractive and interesting, you will have better chances of making children eat.
There are many ways to manage nutrition for kids adequately. You just need to be well informed and ready to cook decent meals for the family. Home food has all the premises of providing all the nutrients necessary for body growth, unlike highly processed or junk food.
