Is There Another Way To Beat Insomnia Other Than Sleeping Pills?

For the past while, I’ve been having really bad insomnia. I have work at 9:00AM and I go to bed at 8:30PM because I know that I probably wont get much sleep, I fall asleep at 8 and usually wake up by 1-2AM and cant fall back asleep. Sleeping pills can be addictive, so I was wondering, is there any other way to beat insomnia other than using sleeping pills?

  1. Melatonin pills. my friend suffers from insomnia and thats what she takes they seem to work really well for her.

    You don’t state what type of work you do. But if you have a sedentary job, such as a desk job, you may not be getting enough exercise during the day. A good physical workout, or any physical activity that works the body and brain, can help with a better nights sleep. If your body is tired, you will sleep better. Just don’t work out more than 2 or 3 hours prior to bedtime. Try doing some physical activity after your job. Make sure you eat a good meal in the evening, but not too late. Hunger can also cause insomnia. You might also try drinking a cup of chamomile tea before bedtime. It has a calming, sedative effect.
    Also, you state that you go to bed at 8 and wake up at 1 or 2. You are getting 5-6 hours of sleep per night. Some people do not require more sleep than this. Try staking awake and going to bed later, and see if you can sleep later in the mornings.

    I agree, Melatonin is really great to help you fall asleep and it’s all NATURAL because melatonin is the chemical that is produced naturally in your brain that tells you it’s time to go to sleep. Just make sure that when you take melatonin that you are ready to go to bed and make sure to lay in a completely dark room because melatonin is destroyed by light.     Eat a turkey sandwich for diiner, that always makes me tired because of the natural triptophan in the turkey. Take a hot bath, read a book, or go for a nice long walk before turning in.
