my 4 year old daughter has only recently started to grind her teeth in her sleep, she is under no stress and is a very happy calm, little girl. I know it is quite common for some children under the age of 7 to grind their teeth in their sleep because their teeth are at the growing stages which causes an itching sensation when sleeping but if anyone knows what i can do to prevent this that would be great :>)

usually grinding of teeth in the nights (Bruxisim) is due to tension & dreams. Depends on the state of the mind. You have the REM & Non REM ( eye movements) during the non REM the person tends to dream & in the dreams can get tensed & grind the teeth. For children another cause for grinding teeth is due to worms infection. Get regular deworming done.
You may THINK she is free from stress but that may not be true . Unfortunatley moms can not control everything . She may have had a bad encounter with something or someone . Maybe something as simple as a person dying on a TV show . Talk to her . 4 year olds get stressed very easily , especially more intelligent ones !
Or you could try Ambesol for Children . My grandmother put a little brandy on the gums , but four of her 9 children had drinking problems – LOL .
I would also love yo know the answer to this question. My 4 year old son does it when he’s sleeping and i cant stand the noise! He often gets into bed with me through the night and starts grinding his teeth. Aaaargh! Sorry, i know thats not very helpful!
You can get mouth guard type things to go in her mouth. Too big for her to swallow. They do kid sizes in most sports shops and probably boots as well. My son had them when he was younger.
dunno any home remedies type thing….but if you go to your dentist they can give her a gumgard type device to wear at night so that the teeth grinding doesnt damage her teeth
The way you stop an adult, ie: with a night guard.
Sign of worms check her poo for cotton like threads
