Cure Colds and Flu With Natural Health

Taking over the counter medication isn’t the only way to feel better when you catch a cold. Taking an aggressive stance against getting sick will usually help you stay well. Obviously sometimes, even if you do everything right, you get sick anyway and without any warning start feeling like the people you see awake all night in the cold and flu medication ads on television. It is not a good idea to take a bunch of over the counter medication in the hopes of simply sleeping through your cold or flu. Sure it’s tempting but there are better ways to help yourself feel better and to get over your flu. Nature has come up with plenty of ways to help humans deal with cold and flu symptoms and to heal from them entirely. Here are natural remedies you can try.

Try some peppers for cold relief. If you want an easy way to boost your immune system is to eat bell peppers, which are great sources of vitamin C. Cayenne pepper is another ingredient that is great for colds, flues and your sinuses. Add some cayenne pepper to your tea to help stimulate and relax your sinuses so that you can breathe easier. Another reason to “take” cayenne pepper when you are sick is that it will cause you to sweat which will help you heal.

You don’t have to eat a bunch of oranges to meet your vitamin C requirement! A great source of Vitamin C is the leafy green vegetable you usually avoid. If you feel yourself starting to get sick, aim for the green and leafy as well as the orange and round. Other citrus fruits contain vitamin C as well, so change out your orange juice for some lemonade or limeade.

Vitamin C is also found in bell peppers so why not add them to your favorite meals? Adding bell peppers to your meals won’t just enhance the flavor of the food it gives you the nutrients you need to build a strong body that is able to fight off illness.

You want to know more about organic super foods, but the other important side of the coin is that you have to get up and move on it. What you do with this information is totally up to you, but we hope that it does not just gather dust in your head.

We do not really know why most people do not advance themselves, but that seems to be the common thing to do, or not do. It is a noble thing to be different from the rest because the rest, or most, of the people just sit and wait for something to change.

.

It is not hard at all, really, to use this information if you become aware and commit to it. After saying all of that, it is time to move forward. Make tea. Herbal teas are great because they contain ingredients that help people feel better but do not contain caffeine which can slow down the immune system’s response to illness. Making your own tea with helpful ingredients is useful as well. The tea will help you sweat which is always helpful in ridding your body of the toxins that are trying to take over while you deal with your cold or flu. Using herbal and natural health methods to get well is a great idea.
Are you so desperate to not feel your symptoms that you’ll fill your body with chemicals even though natural health methods work just as well? Instead of running for the antihistamines and decongestants, run for your teas and your bottles of water. Don’t forget to give yourself permission to rest up otherwise nothing you do will help you get better.

For quick help in cold and flu, you may try this herbal tea – Boil some basil leaves in water, along with some black pepper and jaggery, till the water reduces to almost half. Then drink it sip by sip.

This has been tried and tested by me on several occasions.
