The books were so popular, that keeping them in stock was next to impossible for booksellers. South Beach is similar to Atkins in that they both severely limit the amount of carbs you eat. You get to reintroduce carbs slowly back into your diet with the South Beach diet, though. The amount of sugar you ingest daily is another area of concentration with South Beach. While this plan is not the most unhealthy one on the market, its not as healthy as simply watching your portion sizes and getting regular exercise.

The Mediterranean Diet never really hit “best seller” status like some of the other weight loss programs. It’s still pretty popular though. This diet is based around the natural diets of people in countries like Western Europe an Greece. Since the people in these countries are thinner and on average healthier than those in western countries, the diet takes their eating habits and makes a program for you. Many people like this diet because they are allowed to keep eating their favorite foods.

It’s not an easy task to lose unwanted weight. Some can do it simply by exercising and eating right. While there are others who need more structure to get to their goal weight. If you haven’t already, speak to your medical professional before you start a program. She will have some ideas of what might work and what you should stear clear of. Your doctor can help you decide which program will meet your needs best. You will feel the effects of your actions when you begin to lose that weight.
