Comparing The Crystalift Microdermabrasion At Home Machine And Professional Micro-dermabrasion

July 5th, 2009 -- Posted in Natural health care | No Comments »

One of the most talked about skincare procedures practiced today is microdermabrasion. One has read in magazines, many times, of famous star praising the treatment and what miraculous things it has done with their skin. Not that long ago the only places where you could get the treatment was in beauty salons, spas and clinics.

The first microderm procedures were carried out using amazingly fine abrasive medical grade crystals. In the last ten years or so it is becoming more common to use a wand or hand tool which has a diamond tipped or rough surfaced, head. In crystal microderm, the minute crystals are blasted onto the skins surface exfoliating it rather aggressively. The degree of exfoliation occurring when this treatment is used is incredibly greater than is possible by using any of the many exfoliating creams currently available to buy.

It is true to say that, with all treatments performed in professional aesthetic clinics and beauty spas or salons, a pro microderm treatment can be cost prohibitive. It works out more pricey than one thinks because more than one treatment is required. The majority of aesthetic clinics and beauty spas, salons recommend a minimum of ten sessions. The most important advantage to having a pro treatment is the equipment used are more powerful and so produce a better result.

Home microdermabrasion have become incredibly popular as they do not cost as much to purchase. The at home microdermabrasion kits are often much milder, which, in the long run might mean you be required to repeat the process more often before any results are visible. A common complaint about the at home treatments are slight inflammation and irritation (usually resulting from using it too much or not following the instructions).

Now enter the Crystalift Microdermabrasion At Home Machine which is an “at home microderm kit” but it uniquely uses a machine which uses the exact same techniques as the pro microderm machines, in that it uses crystals and blasts them onto the face. All other at home microdermabrasion kits offer a skin care treatment that is simply not comparable.

In truth the Crystalift Microdermabrasion At Home Kit is the only Real at home microdermabrasion machine available.

Which ever route you chose to take, either the at home treatment or the professional microdermabrasion treatment, it is entirely down to personal choice. There are people who combine both types of treatment, and we think this is the best way to go especially if you decide to buy the Crystalift Microdermabrasion At Home Machine which is commonly available for no more than $200 (the price of a few sessions with a professional so it may well pay for itself in a very short space of time!).

Understanding Acne Causes and Symptoms

July 5th, 2009 -- Posted in Natural Skin Care | No Comments »

For many years acne has been the torment of an enormous number of teenage lives, and, of which, the subject matter, is rarely mentioned. Folk who have suffered with acne have been remorselessly teased and tormented, and horrifically christened with nicknames such as crater face. Only those who have sadly suffered from acne can empathize how enormously damaging such name calling can really be. Over the last few decades interesting puzzles that have been solved in the causes and symptoms of acne which have also aided the creation of effective treatments.

An Introduction to Acne

Acne is the name of an inflammatory skin disease often presenting itself in teenagers. Acne is characterized by the production of excess oil in the sebaceous glands in the hair follicles which eventually become clogged. it can effect the pores and follicles in the skin on the face, chest and back but also including that of the arms. The blocked follicles and pores are medically termed comedo.

The comedone are the the plugs which block the pores which consists of keratin and sebum. A comedo can be either closed or open. An open comedo is what most people call a ‘blackhead’, and the closed comedo is what most people call a ‘whitehead’.

Once a comedone has formed it is usually followed by the most noticeable and unpleasant symptom of acne – spots. First the comedone becomes infected and with this comes redness and inflammation in the skin, which then leads to an outbreak of zits. The spots frequently become filled with pus and the skin surrounding the pimple looks very red and is sore to the touch.

There are two types of bacteria responsible for the inflammation and infection in acne, these are called Staphylococcus epidermidis and Propionibacterium acnes. As well as being responsible for the formation of pus filled pimples, acne abcesses and cysts can occur.

Causes of Acne

Amazingly our Scientists have made fantastic advances in the comprehension of the process of creation of, and the treatment of, acne. Alarmingly there has been little advancement in the knowledge of the reasons for the development of acne. However, it is widely accepted thatvarious factors, such as stress, hormones and diet can all act as triggers for acne.

The are a huge number of scientist researching genetic aspects of acne. Even if they do not manage to find the exact causes we can be certain that the increased understanding of the disease will help in the creation of new treatments.
